Off road training in Taupo

5 peeps from HB and 2 locals from Taupo along with instructor Ants Rountree started off our day in Taupo with a hearty breakfast before tackling the great out doors. We spent a few hours going over basic handling and clutch and throttle control. Exercises that are essential to off road riding. What are your limits? Yet to find out but I had moments of apprehension, nerves especially on the descent before a water crossing to ffs just get out there and give heaps. So thankful for having fab people to share the day with the dynamic duo Robinson’s and gigantic Tony with Justice to boot! Thanks to Riley and Richard that made up the crew. Definitely will not ride on my own, company out bush is so much better and while I need to work on strength to left my heavy arse bike! I’ll definitely redo this course because it will cone to me automatically it’s rinse and repeat with exercises and nothing beats time in the saddle clocking up the kms.

Taupō - Waiouru - Gentle Annie - Napier - Taupō

Not sure why GPS didn’t track for 1st part, but Taupō-Turangi-Waiouru is just on SH1 (boring & too busy). The main course is The Gentle Annie which is shown. SH5 back to Taupō is speed-limited, was wet and very greasy (yuk).
