South Island Trip -Day 3

Reefton to Hokitika. Fantastic ride lots of twisties definitely do again, in fact the whole journey thus far! Punakaiki must stop fo for the walk and have an ice cream afterwards before hitting the road.

Saturday afternoon ride.

Just a group of old and new riders headed out for an afternoon ride. I only had time to complete the first half but what a day to be out on the road. Cruised around at a nice pace enjoying the moment on your bike. Good catch up and enjoyed everyone’s company & I look forward to the next ride.

South Island Trip Day 7

Māpua to Picton overnight. Highly recommend taking the scenic route to Picton, road conditions were challenging but fun. Keep your wits about you! Look forward to the next South Island adventure!

Happy Father's Day

Stunner. Bloody windy for a while, but a stop for a pie and a mocha took care of that. Rode past a barn fire. Met a South African on a Himalayan called Paul.

30th Birthday Ride

Group ride to celebrate Vaila 30th. Great day out, lovely luncheon and to finish it off a cool evening ride back into town. Ride MT09 older model and have to say did not like the suspension to spongy, however grateful for the opportunity to ride the instructors bike. He loved mine hahaha sticks to the road, thank you I’ll take that! Kings birthday weekend enjoy people, ride safe and make some fab memories!

Matt brought a new bike in Hamilton so we accompany him to pick it up. Great day riding, good company with lots of laughs, perfect start to the weekend.

South Island Trip Day 8

Picton to Levin. Our time in the south ended today and what a journey. Definitely going back complete the lower south and revisit parts of this journey for sure. We boarded the ferry early and we sailed 1/2 hr early too, fantastic which meant we went into bike shops to eye up my potential future bike & apparel. I can’t thank my travel companions enough for the opportunity to see the beautiful country we live in and see it together. We parted ways in Paraparaumu where they’re spending time with their friends going to concert. I wish them the bestest weekend and safe travels home. I’m spending my time catching up with friends and meeting cousins for the first time whom are over from America, I’ll stay at Hotel de son ( my sons home) so grateful to be able to do the things that I do, looking forward to my next bike if and when it should take my interest in the meantime I’m going to continue to clock up the kilometres on my lil bike. Have a great day/evening weekend everyone! Ma te wā!

South Island Trip Day 4 #2

First part of journey I ended accidentally so that will be posted as well. How good is Arthur’s Pass? Could’ve easily turned around and done again, spectacular scenery and at the beginning of the day the weather looked dodgy, but as soon as we made our way over to the East it was clearing! Hokitika to Hamner Spring 2 days relaxing and tiki tour about the place. My poor knees need extra padding from the armour as the pressure from constant pressure after hours of riding became quite uncomfortable. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to add protective padding there? Drop a comment.

Gisborne to Te kaha

Fantastic scenery and good twisting roads. Most part staying last to accompany other rider, but I had opportunity to blast through second part of twist with lead rider! I’ll be doing this ride again and staying more nights along the way.
