Fix a ride that isn't tracked or shows the wrong position

Allow Detecht to use your precise location, and on Android, let it run in the background. A weak GPS signal makes distance and speed less accurate.

If your ride isn't tracked at all

A ride usually isn't tracked because Detecht isn't allowed to use your phone's location, or because your phone's battery settings stop it while it runs in the background.

Allow Detecht to use your location

iOS

  1. Open your iPhone's Settings.
  2. Find Detecht and tap it.
  3. Tap Location and allow Detecht to use your location.
  4. Turn on Precise Location.

Android

  1. Open your phone's Settings and tap Apps.
  2. Tap Detecht, then Permissions.
  3. Tap Location and allow Detecht to use your location.
  4. Turn on Use precise location.

Let Detecht run in the background on Android

If the position, distance or speed is wrong

In some places, your phone can't get a good GPS signal. You can still use Detecht there, but the distance and speed it records are less accurate.
