Hide where your rides start and end

A public ride shows its exact route, including where it starts and ends. If you set off from home or work, trim the start and end so others can't see where they are. Detecht doesn't trim them for you.

Trim a new ride

  1. When you've finished, tap End. The screen for saving your ride opens.
  2. Drag the start and end of the Trim slider until the ride starts and ends well away from home.
  3. Tap Save.

The ride's distance and statistics count only the part you kept.

Trim a saved ride

  1. Open the ride.
  2. Tap the edit icon in the top right corner.
  3. Drag the start and end of the Trim slider.
  4. Tap Save.

The ride's distance and statistics stay as they were before you trimmed it.

Trim so your home stays hidden

  • Trim well past your own street, not just to your driveway.
  • Trim a different amount each time. If every ride ends the same distance from home, the ends of several rides form a circle around it.
  • To keep a ride to yourself, save it as private instead. See Keep your rides and location private.
