Navigate a route
Open the route, tap Plan or Ride and choose turn-by-turn navigation, or follow the route line on the map.
There are two ways to ride a route:
- Turn-by-turn navigation guides you through every turn, with arrows, street names and voice directions. It's free on your own planned and tracked routes. On other riders' routes, it's part of Premium.
- Follow the route line shows the route on the map for you to follow, without directions. It's free on every route.
Navigate turn by turn
- Open the route: one of your own, or another rider's from Routes.
- Tap Plan or Ride.
- Choose turn-by-turn navigation.
- Change the route's waypoints first if you want.
- Choose where to start: at the route's start, or Jump in from where you are, which skips the waypoints you've already passed.
- Start navigating.
Turn voice directions on or off
- While navigating, tap the settings icon on the map.
- Scroll to Voice Settings. There you can:
- Turn Voice on or off.
- Change the volume of the voice directions.
- Turn Pause Playback on or off, to choose whether your music pauses while you hear a direction.
Skip a waypoint
To skip the next waypoint and head for the one after it, tap the skip waypoint icon on the map. Only touch the screen when it's safe to.
Follow the route line
- Open the route.
- Tap Plan or Ride.
- Choose to follow the route line. The route is drawn on your map, with a dashed line from where you are to the nearest part of it.
- Start tracking your ride.
