Share your live location with Safety Tracking

Tap the Safety Tracking button on the map, turn on Share my live location and share your link. Anyone with it can follow your rides live.

Safety Tracking shares your ride live, so your loved ones can see where you are, and friends can follow along. Safety Tracking is part of Premium.

You have one personal link. Share it once, and the people you share it with can follow every ride you take while Safety Tracking is on.

Turn on Safety Tracking

  1. Tap the Safety Tracking button on the map.
  2. Turn on Share my live location.
  3. Choose who to share with:
    • Emergency contacts: choose the contacts Text link sends your link to.
    • Detecht friends: choose which of your friends in the app can see your live location and get an alert if you crash.

Turning off Share my live location stops sharing your position with everyone at once.

Share your link

From the Safety Tracking menu, share your link with:

  • Share link…: your phone's share menu, for apps such as WhatsApp or Messenger.
  • Text link: a text message to the emergency contacts you chose, ready to send.

Your link stays the same until you reset it, so you don't need to share it again for each ride.

Start a ride

When you track or navigate a ride with Safety Tracking on, Safety Tracking active shows at the bottom of the screen. Tap Share link there to send your link before you head out.

Reset your link

Anyone with your link can see where you are whenever Safety Tracking is on. To stop everyone who has it:

  1. Open the Safety Tracking menu and expand it.
  2. Tap Generate new link.
